The Boston Parent Organizing Network (BPON) is a citywide initiative to organize parents and communities as advocates for the improvement of the Boston Public Schools.  Established in 1999, BPON is not a new organization, but a network of existing organizations that engage and support parents in these efforts.

BPON is a diverse group of 36 member organizations that are committed to engaging parents in education and that subscribe to BPON's guiding principles.  In addition, BPON awards six major organizing grants each year.  The ongoing work of these groups is helping to reconnect parents and communities to the educational and decision making processes in the Boston Public Schools.

BPON supports these efforts by acting as a central connection through which an exchange of ideas, information, and strategies to empower parents and build partnerships is shared.
